There is a lesson to be learned

With every traffic citation given there is hope that a lesson has been taught, not a punishment given. As driver's, we need reminders that we are all in this together and each of us needs to do our part to ensure everyone makes it home safely. The consequences of our actions may go unnoticed... until they aren't. Unfortunately, for many, it takes a serious tragedy, crash, or fatality to bring awareness to certain unsafe driving behaviors. It is our goal to prevent tragedies on all Oregon roadways by bringing awareness to those avoidable behaviors and their potentially devastating side effects.

Registering for our Oregon Traffic Safety Course is a simple process. The course will consist of five sections, each bringing awareness to a different traffic safety concern. You may complete the course in one session or in several, you will not lose progress as you complete each section and there is no time limit set. After the completion of the course, you will be directed to print your completion certificate for your records. It is each participants' responsibility to ensure that the certificate makes it into the hands of the referring party if instructed to do so.

Diversion needs to be completed within 14 days from the date of the issued citation.
You will be unable to register for the diversion course if your 14 days completion period has been exceeded.
Diversion can only be completed one time in a 3-year period. You will be unable to register if you are still within the 3-year window from your last completed diversion, (based off date of citation).
Once you complete the Safe Driving Diversion Course your information will automatically be sent to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and your citation will be dismissed.

This course has been put together by Oregon Impact speakers and Traffic Safety Partners.
